Finding Fidel

I write with immense pleasure as i read on the thawing of the Cuba-America relationship. Raul Castro shaking hands with Barack Obama.

Obama has finally done some good. Cuba has deserved this since since 1959.

As Nicolas Maduro has said, "When Raul sat in that chair, which belongs to Cuba, 60 years of revolution sat down. Fidel sat down,"

The reading of Castro, the elder i had done, made me feel as if i was part of it. My heart was with them as i read of every brave push forward the revolunistas had made against Batista's forces or the cold sad nights that they had to dwell on the path they had chose. The sheer will power of those men and women and fighting for what they belived was the right thing. Which was, in my own view too, the right thing.

I want to meet Fidel. El Commandante. A hero who stood against injustice and wrong. Converse with him and reveal how he has shaped my thoughts and influenced my life.  But right this moment, this desire of mine seems nowhere near fulfilment. He is old. i have not the resources to travel there and gain an audience with him. but
Hope springs eternal.
